Belonging, Meaning, Wellbeing, and Purpose:
The Belonging, Meaning, Wellbeing & Purpose (BMWP) framework, developed by the Aspen Institute’s Forum for Community Solutions, guides HOYC’s next phase of work. BMWP emphasizes youth voice, healing-centered practice, and systems transformation, ensuring that young people not only access services but also experience belonging, make meaning of their journeys, maintain wellbeing, and pursue purposeful lives.
HOYC is committed to embedding BMWP across all six of its core priorities. This alignment strengthens Hartford’s career navigation system and reinforces our goal of building youth-centered strategies that create equitable outcomes. By leveraging BMWP, HOYC both honors the lived experiences of young people and ensures that our collective work is anchored in proven, nationally recognized frameworks.
